Richard Mahoney is currently professor emeritus at Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management. Over the course of 22
years as a professor of international studies, Mahoney taught a total of 17 courses, from risk management in emerging countries
to international finance and trade to U.S. foreign policy, receiving the "most outstanding professor" award from the graduating classes
19 times.
He has also taught courses at the Universidad del Pacifico in Quito, Ecuador (1999), Templeton College at Oxford, United Kingdom
(1982) and the Beijing Institute of International Trade in Beijing, China (1981).
Mahoney is one of the leading historians in the United States on the Kennedy presidency with two critically acclaimed books on
subjects relating to the Kennedys as well as dozens of articles. He was the first John F. Kennedy Scholar at the University of
Massachusetts and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library (1988-99) and gave lectures at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at
Harvard University. He has appeared as an expert historian on the Kennedys in several internationally-televised documentaries.
Mahoney lectures and teaches in three languages -- English, French and Spanish.
